The Centre for Accessible Environments is widely acknowledged as the UK's leading authority on the practicalities of inclusion by design. Founded in 1969, registered as a charity in 1976, they have a mission to share their knowledge and expertise. Their services include information, training and consultancy. Through the Roof’s vision is to make the Christian message of salvation through Jesus Christ available to people affected by disability. Their website includes practical guidance on including disabled persons within church life. There are guidelines for church leaders, group leaders and door stewards, and many other resources which cover areas well beyond the scope of the physical building, such as including response to those who are unable to attend church services and working with children with disabilities. Prospects is a Christian voluntary organisation which values and supports people with learning disabilities so that they live their lives to the full. They have a variety of resources for persons with learning difficulties including daily devotional Bible reading material based on the Easy to Read version of the Bible Churches for All is a campaign to emphasise the vital need to include disabled people. It provides objective, measurable access standards and guidelines for good practice so that people with disabilities, elderly people, and their families may be fully included in the life of the church. They have Access Standards, Good Practice Guides, and a Policy Statement for churches to follow, together with an accreditation system for the disabled facilities provided by each individual church.
